Our Fine Wine Philosophy

Our philosophy is simple; nurture the vines, and concentrate on preserving the complex balance of flavours and acids as the grapes mature. This takes care, attention, and impeccable timing.

We hand-pick when berries are at optimum ripeness. Skill, attention to detail and passion invested throughout the wine making process reward us with wines that delight at the very first taste.


Our Wines

With the exception of our Grenache, every wine created under the Hobbs label is made from grapes grown in our own vineyard.

Nature and the seasons dictate our production; the amount of wine produced is limited by the yield of the vines. We make three red wines, and each year we bottle around 250 dozen of each.

The dessert wines we make are by nature even more exclusive, limited in volume not only by low acreage, but by the drying process used to concentrate the flavour. We press around 200 litres of juice out of each tonne of grapes to be made into wine.
